What a reflow oven datasheet tells you

A reflow oven datasheet is the document you check before you buy a used oven, plan a retrofit, or size a process to a board. The numbers that matter most are the number of heat zones, the conveyor width and speed range, the maximum component height the cavity clears, the heating method (here, forced convection), the nitrogen capability, the power and gas requirements, and the footprint. Together those decide whether an oven can run your board at your throughput in your space.

For legacy equipment, the datasheet also anchors parts and service. Knowing the exact model and revision, ChipFlo 4 versus ChipFlo 5, ThermaFlo 8 versus 8N, DeltaFlo 10LN versus 10LN-SV, is what lets you order the correct board, fan, or heater instead of guessing.

Models in the line

The published datasheet set covered the smaller-board and chip-scale ovens (ChipFlo 4, ChipFlo 5, MicriFlo 8SER, MicriFlo 11, MicriFlo 11LS), the large-board DeltaFlo ovens (DeltaFlo 10LN and the 10LN-SV variant), and the general production ThermaFlo ovens (ThermaFlo 8 and 8N, ThermaFlo 10 and 10N, where the N denotes the nitrogen-capable configuration).

The TOWER system had its own datasheet alongside the TOWER Profile Station, the profiling tool used to verify and tune a thermal profile on the board itself rather than trusting setpoints alone. Profiling hardware is part of any serious reflow process, because the only temperature that matters is the one on the joint, not the one on the oven's display.

The N suffix and other naming

The naming carries information. An N suffix (ThermaFlo 8N, 10N) generally indicates a nitrogen-capable build. LN on the DeltaFlo line points to the low-nitrogen design. SV and LS suffixes denote specific variants within a family. When you are matching a datasheet to a physical oven, read the full model string on the data plate, including the suffix, because a fan or controller that fits the base model may differ on a variant.
